C'est probablement la première chose à dire. Tuque ne coud rien, ne tourne aucune poterie, ne fond aucun bijou. Ce qu'on fait, c'est choisir.Une boutique générale canadienne : cuisine, maison, papeterie, bijoux, cadeaux. Tout vient d'un atelier d'ici. Pas « conçu au Canada ». Pas « inspiré du Nord ». Fait ici, par quelqu'un dont on connaît le nom et la ville et on l'écrit sur chaque fiche produit, parce que ça change ce que tu achètes.

Comment ça marche

Quand tu commandes, ton colis part directement de l'atelier qui a fabriqué l'objet. Pas d'entrepôt, pas de centre de distribution, pas de boîte qui traverse le pays deux fois avant d'arriver chez toi.Ça veut dire une chose qu'on préfère te dire tout de suite : si tu commandes de trois artisans, tu vas recevoir trois colis, à trois moments différents. On aurait pu tout faire transiter par un entrepôt pour que ça arrive ensemble. On trouve que c'est une mauvaise idée — pour l'objet, pour l'artisan, et pour la planète.Rien ici n'a passé aux douanes. Rien n'y passera. Aucun frais surprise à la porte.

Ce qu'on promet

Qu'on nomme toujours l'artisan et sa ville. Que le site fonctionne aussi bien en français qu'en anglais, pas juste à moitié. Et qu'on ne mettra jamais un produit en ligne juste parce qu'il se vend bien ailleurs.

We don't make anything

That's probably the first thing to say. Tuque sews nothing, throws no pottery, casts no jewellery. What we do is choose. A Canadian general store: kitchen, home, paper goods, jewellery, gifts. All of it out of a workshop somewhere in this country. Not "designed in Canada." Not "northern-inspired." Made here, by someone whose name and town we know and we print both on every product page, because it changes what you're buying.

How it works

When you order, your parcel leaves directly from the workshop that made the thing. No warehouse, no distribution centre, no box crossing the country twice before it reaches you.Which means something we'd rather tell you now than have you discover at the door: order from three makers and you'll get three parcels, arriving at three different times. We could route everything through a warehouse so it turned up together. We think that's the wrong trade — for the object, for the maker, and for the mileage.Nothing here crossed a border. Nothing will. No surprise charges on delivery.

What we promise

That we always name the maker and the town. That the site works as well in English as it does in French, not half as well. And that we'll never list something just because it sells well somewhere else.
